Please note that everything on this theme page was created with all the EPs installed up to and including SuperStar. Where specific EPs are required it has been mentioned.

Click To Enlarge ImageSo by now you are wondering what is 1920! It is the year 1920. If you are curious why I chose the year read on . . .

The Architecture people regard as "Modern" is really almost a century old! In the very early 1900's, architects such as Le Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright, Walter Gropuis (Bauhaus) amongst others started the very functional non decorative architectural style.

This theme is an attempt to capture the look of the early 20th century when unfinished concrete was considered a "new" finish! Please click on the thumbs to get a larger view.

It is very unlikely that I will make any furniture for this theme as there are so many talented artists out there with a wealth of modern furniture. This theme is mostly to fill the gaps and to create a home to truly show off your modern bits!

Click To Enlarge ImagePlease download the different items below as they are completed. Make sure to read any notes that go with the objects before emailing me :) Some objects have specific instructions due to several modifications.

Objects used are on this page, or from the game. The lintel window from the Maya Theme was used to create the high beams by the front door and the entrance features. The floors are the natural stone floors which you can also find on the site. This theme came about partially due to screen shots and ideas I got from people who email me. Thanks to everyone. (The house the screen shots are taken from will eventually be available for download)

This Concrete Set includes 4 floors and 17 variations on the wallpapers displayed. They are not duplicates and they should be used alternatively to create a flowing concrete look without repeating.

Use the floor tiles to create the tops of "Concrete Blocks" or balconies. They are a little dull if used all over as a floor tile. This download is 1 meg in size.

These beams are three tiles long and you can place them end to end to lengthen them. They also look good sideways between two walls. The object is offset to appear above the floor it is placed on. You will find this object under Walls in the Build menu.  Requires Living Large

This cross beam is one tile wide and appears to support the above beams. It should be placed side by side the length of the amount of beams used. The object is offset to appear above the floor it is placed on. You will find this object under Walls in the Build menu.  Requires Living Large

The Top portion (left) is animated with transparent smoke and goes on the first floor. It is similar to the chimney from the Maya Theme but this one sticks up higher above the roof. The base unit is not yet ready but you can place it as in the first enlargeable image above! You will find this object under Fireplaces in the Build menu.

These columns have been modified so you can place them just about anywhere. One way to use them is to place them above each other without a floor. Please read the notes in the in game object description

This window is a single tile version of the Superstar "Fashion" Window. The base shouldn't require any EPs. For the transparency to work with Sims behind it you will need to have either Unleashed or any newer EP installed

This door is based on the Superstar "Fashion" Door. I changed the glass colour to a slightly bluer colour because the dull green colour looks terrible when it is not very transparent. It has a square etched pattern on the glass. The prefered door when you are not an exhibitionist! The door looks better in the game. You will need Requires SuperStar installed for this door.

The Bauhaus Windows! Since so many people were happy to see this theme I decided to include these. The theme is not specifically Bauhaus but the windows certainly fit right in! Please note that the windows will bleed through corners slightly because they are wider than normal so they will overlap to create the continuous look. Because they over lap they do not look good if you alternate black-white-black-white. Use either colour in a row. Click on the image on the left for a view of the full sets.

Click To Download The Roof Set

Every building needs a Roof! The concrete one doesn't look too bad in completely flat mode! It is virtually impossible to create a flat roof on the second floor so this is as close as you are going to get :)

This Item has Just Been Added To This PageWhile on the topic of roofs ... How about a skylight or two? The taller one is like the towers I've made before and the simple skylight works really well in a variety of ways. As skylights in a concrete roof, for covered porches or over a pool. Click on the thumbnail on the left for more ideas!

As with the other towers the Z Buffers are completely black! I tried to use normal Z Buffers for the lower skylight but after two days realised I was just wasting my time. These object files will bleed through walls. Since they are offset above wall height this should very seldom be a problem. Download the two separately below.

Objects I Said I Wasn't Making :)

Click To Download This Concrete & Glass Bookcase!Whoa! What is this? How did it get in here? I said I wasn't making any furniture! Oh wait!!! It is In Situ Concrete so technically it isn't furniture. Besides you try moving that amount of concrete! (Revised on 2003/12/26)

Click To DownloadThis hot tub has been modified quite a lot. I have used the normal water graphics for the play function as well. It only have one view which has reduced the file size to a ¼ of the original size.

The graphics are loosely based on the hot tub from SuperStar but the EP is NOT required. You will however need Requires Hot Date because that is the base for the tub.

In order for the Sims to appear under the water you will need Unleashed or a newer EP installed. They will still work without one of these EPs but the section under water will either disappear or the Sims will be on top of the water.

Click To Download The FireplaceThis fireplace will not burn anything except your firewood! It has a glass door which stops all sparks from igniting your furniture! You want to place it in the middle of the room? No problem! With its new chimney design this is now possible. Use it to separate large living areas from dining sections.

The mirror is decorative only! The letters FP on the game menu icon indicate that the fireplace is Fire Proof.

And now for some recolours!
